Did you have some perfect place when you were a teen, or a college student, or hopefully wherever you are now, where you could go and just be yourself? Maybe it was a coffee shop, the gaming store, the library, or your best friend’s house. Natali has a dream to make a local place where dorky kids and adults can do just that.
Science, gaming, food, kids activities…this girl dreams big and that’s awesome!
It’d be hard for me to quote all of the awesomeness without just reposting, so go read the whole post here. I really wish I lived where she does so I could go when it’s ready (or help it get ready), because it sounds frakking fantastic!
And putting my money where my mouth is, I used some of my Cthulhu earnings to fund her on Kickstarter. She’s asking for $5000 in funding and she’s already over $1800. You can pledge as little as $1. If the project doesn’t get fully funded, your money would be returned.
I’ve already pledged, and I plan to do so again in July and August, depending on how Cthulhus sell. It’s my fun/”me” money, and I think supporting other geeks with it is an awesome use.

Yay! I feel strongly about this too!
There’s something about helping someone’s dream become a reality.

Hooray! I am happy to support such a wonderful idea, and I even live in Milwaukee, so once it is open I will most likely live there.

She’s up another $300 putting her over $2100, so awesome.

That is so awesome! It’s exciting to see other people’s dreams become a reality. I’m thrilled for her. It’s such a great idea. I hope it is insanely successful and that she will be able to open up branches nationwide!

So cool! Here, we have the gaming store (not that I ever go, but Jim’s going tonight) and Jeremy “Boo” Rochman park–although EVERYONE likes that place. If I ever had money, I’d like to do something similar–but probably not in southern Illinois.
I get an extra paycheck in July, so I’ll probably pledge something.
