Goodness I hope so. Otherwise blame LibrarianRy for tempting me to up it from 52 books. GoodReads is doing a 2011 Reading Challenge, you see, and when I realized that in the first 12 days of 2011 I’d already read 5 books, I thought I should get on board with that. Numbers are fun!
I’ve decided that rereads are fair game, at least ones that I haven’t read in years. The books I’ve read so far are (linked to my reviews) Bujold’s Memory (5 stars), Pratchett’s The Fifth Elephant (4 stars), Austen’s Northanger Abbey (4 stars), Heyer’s The Reluctant Widow (2 stars), and Herbert’s Dune (5 stars, 4.5 for the audiobook). [Edit, and since writing this post, I finished Bujold's Komarr, making 6 books and 6% done.]
If you want to join me, you can friend me (or don’t friend me, you can just join the challenge).
GoodReads also has a page where you can see all of your friends doing the challenge and either feel superior or know who to sympathize with.

Impressive goal. I just wasn’t able to wrap my head around reading 100 books in a year, so I settled for increasing from my original goal of 12 books to 26. Good call on the decision to consider rereads fair game.
Good luck!

Nice! I’ve never actually tracked my reading. I did challenge myself to read 5 non-fiction books last year, thhough, and I ended up reading 8. I don’t think I’m ready to commit to even 10 non-fiction books this year, though. Non-fiction makes me sleepy.

I was tempted to do this, but I’m not sure if graphic novels should count.

I see your 100 books and raise you 200! Just added you on Good Reads.

Whew, good luck! I am trying for 80, but it might be ambitious since I am trying to break out of a year-long reading slump.

@Mackenzie – I hear you on non-fiction. I’m doing mostly fiction right now.
@Terry – graphic novels…of course they count! If paperback romances count, they count.
@Andrew – Very nice. I’m going to see if I make it past 100. That’ll depend on a lot of things, including library school.
@Stefanie – I’ve been through slumps, but fortunately I got sucked out of mine in 2010 so I feel up for it. Good luck!

I randomly set myself a goal of 100, too. I won’t be too sad if I don’t make it…but I wouldn’t be too surprised if I do. I cannot put down a book once I’ve started it.

You can do it! I did this a few years back with a goal of 75 books. I hit 77 at the end of the year.
